Winning this competition has been the biggest thrill of my life. While I’ve spent months and months training for the cook-off, I never expected to win – my aim was just to come away with my head held high knowing that I’d done my best” said 19-year-old chef Wills as he accepted the title. I’m looking forward to learning from Peter Gordon, and eating out some of London’s best restaurants... it’s a chef’s dream come true. I know that working conditions in London will be a lot different to what I’m used to in a small rural town like Mangawhai Heads, but I’m sure there’s a lot of knowledge I can bring back and share with my team at Sail Rock.
