Earlier this month, New Zealand’s first wāhine Māori in tech trade delegation was in the UK for London Tech Week. The group, led by Naomi Manu and supported by Nicky Lloyd Martin, was in London following visits to Paris and Dublin, where they explored export opportunities to European markets.
The delegation was hosted by a joint KEA and NZTE event at the New Zealand High Commission which displayed the strength and ingenuity of the Kiwi tech community in both Aotearoa and the UK. Throughout the rest of the week the delegation made important connections with British tech companies, planting the seeds of future partnerships and collaborations.
The NZUK Link Foundation is delighted that tech continues to be such a fruitful area of cross-cultural cooperation and exchange. Technology is one of our four focus fields, and we are committed to encouraging and strengthening close relationships between New Zealand and the UK in the tech sector. At the heart of this commitment is the McLaren internship which you can read about here.
The delegation has now returned home, but for the women who took part in this trailblazing visit, this is only the beginning of their collaboration with the tech sector in the UK.
